Un largo pasillo, innumerables historias

The artist’s studio lies at the end of a 30-metre-long passageway and dates from 1930. The peeling, stained walls, mottled with damp, displayed a jumble of colours and blurred shapes which, once photographed, inspired the backgrounds of the works.

The stories told by the neighbours — things that really happened in that apartment, now a studio — became characters drawn in acrylic paint, peopling the old passageway in an almost ghostly way.
